Song of the Day
Today’s song is one of my favorite psychedelic songs of all time, the Beatles I am the Walrus. From the Magical Mystery Tour album, it was written by John Lennon, though credited to Lennon and McCartney.
Part of the charm of the song is its outlandish surreal lyrics. John describes the genesis of the lyrics in this book excerpt. Read it, as it will save you the trouble of trying to figure out what they actually mean!
The music video for this song comes and goes on You Tube. So I have posted both what is presently available, which opens with a short excerpt from the Magical Mystery Tour film, and a second which features the whole song, but not music video. For those who can’t wait, the song begins at :33 of the first video.
