Song of the Day –
Today’s Song of the Day is a 1968 cover of the Rolling Stones Jumpin’ Jack Flash sung in Spanish by the Mexican rock group Los Yaki – Juan Saltarin. As was common in the 60s, many Spanish groups covered the rock hits of the day – Los Yaki covered a number of British invasion hits, including this quite good version of Jumpin’ Jack Flash.
When I initially published this post, a You Tuber had tied the song to a great clip from the 1968 movie Thunder Alley (starring Annette Funicello and Fabian, among others). While its quite the disco scene, I don’t think the band (or this song) appeared in the movie. That you tube video is no longer with us, but a clip of the disco scene from the movie is, which I present for your viewing pleasure.
